At the tip of Mexico’s 1000 mile long Baja California peninsula, Los Cabos are one of the destinations with a perfect combination of great weather, beautiful beaches and spectacular scenery. A diverse area with two main towns, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Los Cabos is the perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a sea side resort town that looks like Rodeo Drive.

First developed in 1974 by the Mexican Government, Cabo San Lucas has become the top destination for tourist and spring breakers in Baja. With its large marina and beautiful bay where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, is famous for its casual atmosphere and incredible nightlife.

Cabo is also known for its famous stone arch, called El Arco, a magnificent natural rock formation at Land’s End.

Exclusive hotels and guard gated communities attract a wide variety of Hollywood Stars and the Rich and Famous. In 1990 rock musician Sammy Hagar of Van Halen opened the Cabo Wabo Cantina and plays there at least once a year with his band the Wabo’s on his birthday, October 13.

Cabo San Lucas’s raucous party atmosphere and San Jose’s laid back style are bridged by a golf course and tourist corridor that stretches between the twin towns in 20 miles of beautiful beaches and sun drenched coves.

Also known as the corredor del oro (Golden Corridor), the Corridor is where most tourists go and where newcomers settle down in retirement homes. Chileno Beach, located in the Chileno Bay, is one of the most frequented beaches in the Corridor.

Twenty miles northeast, San Jose del Cabo is Cabo San Lucas' sister city, a charming and romantic colonial town with the flavor of Old Mexico. Founded as a mission in 1730, San Jose is a mile inland from the hotel zone along San Jose Bay. In the small historic downtown, courtyard restaurants, boutiques and art galleries surround the Main Square and twin spire church. Gourmet dining, sophisticated wine bars and live Latin music heat up the night. More of a family oriented town, San Jose is the quiet side of Cabo.

With the area’s best surfing, a palm filled estuary, a sea turtle nursery and the Laguna Mountains to explore, San Jose is the ideal destination for nature lovers.
